I recall you saying that Khaira was the person who would take over if Cass couldn’t be signed.

Edmonton has gone from being dead last by a wide margin last season, to a top ten PK this season.

No, that award in futility belongs to my beloved Blackhawks. Edmonton was 2nd to last. But, the good news for both teams is that they have improved a ton.

Correct my bad, the Oilers had the worst penalty kill at home in the history of the league, but it was slightly less awful on the road.

Please find any blog where I said that. My stance on Khaira since training camp has been that he has done little to nothing to merit a spot in this lineup.

Poor Khaira.

Oh the well. He had a good run.

If they come in above 1.025mil (maximum that can be buried) on average then Holland has one of the same problems many of our GMs have had. Replaceable players like Archibald and Sheahan shouldn't get more than that. I'd give an extra year to get the number down to that.

Archibald 1mil x 3
Sheahan 1.15mil x 2
Nygard 900k x 2

Or, in the case that Kassian's ask is too high (anything above 2.75mil x 3 or 3mil x 2 is too much), we get a cheap McWinger.

[trade]- McDavid- Archibald
RNH- Draisaitl- Yamamoto
Benson- Granlund- Chiasson
Nygard- Sheahan- [UFA]

Where have you managed to unload Neal to? And if that Granlund is Markus, I would prefer to see Haas there. I don't think Mikael plays much center, but would be OK with him in a wing spot (on a more reasonable deal than he is at now). What are your thoughts on D, is Bouchard a lock for next season?

As a wings fans Let me tell you about Kenny holland. If he likes a fourth line guy he isn’t afraid to pay over market value for him. And oh the term...to him, term is a reward for a player. It isn’t something that’s a give and take (less money more term, or vice versa) it’s just a bonus to the guy for doing a good job. They get both term and money! Look at our fourth line: Abdelkader, Nielsen and helm. $12 million dollars!

We have a slightly used John Hayden if you're interested.

Buyout.

It's Mikael. And sure, he mostly plays W but, as a soft-minute 3C, I imagine he wouldn't mind returning. Haas or similar would be 13th F.

I lean towards leaving him in the AHL until absolutely ready. An extra year in the minors wouldn't hurt.

If San Jose are sellers I wonder what it would cost to get Jumbo Joe for a rental( if he wanted)..perfect 3C for this season.
